SICILY

13–18 October 2025

Spend a week exploring the intangible heritage of basketmaking on the beautiful island of Sicily. Known for its gastronomic identity, Sicily also has a rich history of basketmaking. Going hand in hand, baskets were the original containers for harvesting, storing, and producing food.

Testimonials

“I just wanted to say a big ‘thank you’ for a superb willow weaving weekend. I’m totally delighted with my log basket and it’s sitting next to my fireplace loaded with wood.”

“Just thought I’d drop you a note to let you know how much I enjoyed the week with you and the lovely people on the course with me. Felt I learned a great deal, ate some delicious food and had great fun, all so relaxed. And of course thanks for the willow.”

“Annemarie's teaching style was comprehensive, engaging and accessible. It was adapted to a pace that allowed for all learning styles and Annemarie was always available to help one on one. Both Annemarie and Tom were really helpful and made everyone so welcome, so that in addition to learning so many skill it was a wonderful, enriching experience.”

“I wanted to thank you for the fabulous basket making course. I can honestly say, this was the best and most enjoyable course I've ever done! I was in my element.”

“I had a wonderful time with you and also met some very lovely people. I really enjoyed the basket making process, you are a superb teacher. My basket is slightly wonky and most definitely has a home make look (many would say that just about sums me up!). The course has also taught me to really appreciate just how much work is involved in making baskets! I truly never realised! I have been looking at the baskets we have at home in a totally new light!”
